Educational blog review

The educational blog I am choosing is the Mortarboard blog from The Guardian. I am choosing this blog as one of the best blogs on my blog list. I have chosen this because it doesn’t just have posts about educational systems in the United Kingdom or the future of the educational system in the United Kingdom. The blog also has posts from different parts of the world about their educational system and how they improve on the educational system. One of the posts I am talking about is the post on the way they learn in china. This is the link to it. http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/mortarboard/2013/jan/02/china-learns-lessons-by-heart.
In this post it mentions how different the students learn in china. They learn by rote learning everything which means basically know everything off by heart. This is different from the way we learn in the United Kingdom because we enjoy the learning part of it and actually try to understand everything that we have learned. However the Chinese believe there is a link between remembering everything and then understanding what they have remembered. This way of teaching must be working for the Chinese due to the fact their country is one of the most emerging countries economically. It also states in the post that china is creating a generation of the top professions for example engineers, scientist and business managers.
